MacGuffin N° 2 | The Window
MacGuffin No 2 is all about the fascinating stories that revolve around our windows: opulent Maison Jansen curtains, windowsills with rampaging plants, salvaged sash windows, stormproof shopping displays, refugee camp outlooks, confessions of a window cleaner, and the fear of fenestration are investigated by writers, critics, designers, craftsmen and artists, among them Corinna Gardner, Douglas Coupland, Alice Rawsthorn, Chris Kabel, Rudy Guedj, Iwan Pol, Wolfgang Tillmans and Paul Wackers. Also showcased is Seth Siegelaub’s stunning collection of historic textiles.

MacGuffin features fabulous stories about the life of ordinary, often anonymously designed things. Each biannual edition takes an object and explores the manifold stories it generates. Like the MacGuffins in Hitchcock’s films, these things are not the main characters, but plot devices that set the story in motion.
MacGuffin is founded by Kirsten Algera & Ernst van der Hoeven.
